Homemade Salsa Using a PURE Juicer

Yield: 2.5 cups or 20 oz

In the mood for some fresh, creamy salsa with a kick? The PURE Juicer has you covered. With a half-horsepower motor, the PURE stage one grinder grinds up these salsa ingredients quickly and with ease, leaving you with a texture that is ready to be scooped by your favorite chip or veggie sticks.

We used a #8 PURE juicer grid, but if you prefer a chunkier salsa, we recommend a #12.

Ingredients:

2 large tomatoes
1 small red onion
4 green onions
1/4 avocado
1 large jalapeño
2 limes, pressed
5 cloves of garlic
salt and pepper
¼ bunch of parsley
¼ bunch of cilantro

Pro Tips: Top with chopped mango and tomatoes! If you’re not planning to eat the salsa right away, leave the avocado out of the mix and serve it on the side (to avoid discoloration).

Health Benefits:

tomato: good source of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, potassium, vitamin K, and folate.

onion: high in nutrients like vitamin C, B vitamins, and potassium, onions are also rich sources of prebiotics and can aid in digestive health.

avocado: highly nutritious, avocados are rich in fiber, healthy fats, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B6, potassium, magnesium, and folate.

garlic: garlic can boost immunity, improve blood pressure, and prevent food-borne infections.

jalapeño: good source of fiber, vitamin C, and vitamin B6

lime: very high in vitamin C, limes also contain small amounts of iron, calcium, vitamin B6, thiamine, and potassium.

parsley: a nutrient dense herb, parsley is rich in antioxidants and vitamins that can support bone health, protect eyes, and may improve heart health.

cilantro: full of antioxidants and immune-boosting vitamins like vitamin C and vitamin K, cilantro is much more than a garnish.
